Community Futures COVID-19 Business Supports

Many businesses have been or will be affected by the recent measures encouraging social distancing to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

Businesses are a foundation to any community and key to a community’s success. When businesses can’t operate or have operated at reduced levels due to an emergency situation, we know they require support to get them back on track.

Taking Care of Business

Has your businesses or enterprising Not-For-Profits been impacted by permanent mill closures, the Taking Care of Business Program may be able to help!

The Community Futures Taking Care of Business Program is intended to help businesses and enterprising Not-For-Profits that have been impacted by permanent mill closures with:

  • ·Up to $7,500 in reimbursement for specialized training, coaching and/or consulting services
  • Access to free online business workshops,
  • Free and confidential coaching/counseling support to identify business development needs and access supporting resources, and
  • Peer Mentoring support.

About the Program

Taking Care of Business – A Community Futures Program, brings funding and one on one support for training to eligible businesses in Northern BC.  The goal is to help you grow your business!

You will be Taking Care of Business with your own membership in the program.  As an approved member, you will have access to free online workshops and webinars, professional business support, and you will have completed the first step of the application process for up to $7500 in customized business training.

Things you Should Know…

Step 1: The Membership Application: is submitted to become a member of the Community Futures Taking Care of Business Program.  Once approved, your Business Membership Number provides access to free “members only” webinars and online workshops provided here.

What’s so great about being a member? With your Business Membership Number, you will be able to register your team for all the online workshops and webinars you want! That’s right, owners, managers, employees, directors, everyone on your team!

Step 2: The Eligible Organization Application: is submitted if your business or organization would like to access the $7500 for Customized Training.  We will need a few more details for this application!  Once approved, you will have access to the Customized Training Application.

Step 3: Customized Training Application: is submitted for customized training requests (training you plan yourself) for owner(s), manager(s), and employee(s). It will include the details of the training, who the instructor is, who will be taking the training, the start and completion dates, estimated costs, and so on.
